20 Favourite Looks from Delhi Couture Week 2013

Couture weeks bring out the best of designers every season. Designers go all out with their creativity and craftsmanship to show their couture work. I have been obsessing over the gorgeous PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013 photographs. Indian Designers are just amazingly creative.  Sharing some of my favourites from the sheer genius that the designers displayed in the recently concluded couture week.

My clear favourites were Anamika Khanna and Sabyasachi.

Enjoy the photos. 🙂

Anamika Khanna : Every piece showcased in Anamika’s show was beyond spectacular. The beautiful chikankari, the way sarees were draped, the maang-tika, the capes, the color contrasts… I could really go on and on and on.  I would love to own every single piece that Anamika Khanna showcased, especially. *wishlist* 😉 She is a designer par excellence.

Anju Modi

5. Anju Modi’s collection was a favourite because of its gorgeous layers in legengas, the stunning jackets, the beautiful- modern style of dupatta drapes, and the rich hues. The collection was inspired by Draupadi. Very classic. Very Indian.

Manish Arora : With Manish Arora, you either love him or you don’t. I belong to the former category. I think Manish Arora represents the set of people who are not scared to experiment and stand out. The stunning play of striking colors, digital prints, and modern take on bridal were all a part of this bridal couture. Not many brides would want to go this path but those who will leave their guests with some beautiful colorful memories . 🙂

Manish Malhotra : I mean I got sold by Manish Malhotra’s Couture collection the moment I saw Deepika Padukone. What a stunning showstopper she made. Wow! His outfits look so luxe, so vintage yet so appropriate for the modern world.

Ritu Beri’s collection was her take on Punjabi Rock and Roll. Very flamboyant. It was probably not something that I personally liked too much. It was too heavy and OTT for my taste. This particular look was only one that I liked.

16. ritu-beri-couture-2013 Sabyasachi’s collection was a bride’s dream come true.  The breathtakingly beautiful lehengas, sarees, gown, nehru jackets in gold , and white painted the dream picture. I love how every piece of Sabyasachi has that old world charm that only gets better with every collection he presents.
