How are you guys doing? We are having monsoons finally but I am not sure whether I am happy about them or not. I see the news and there is news of flood everywhere. In fact, back home my home got flooded with water. I don’t want to write a saddy post but then I am just too scared of the rain at the moment. And this is just pre monsoon. I hope everyone stays safe.

How was your weekend? Mine was mostly wrapping up a ton of stuff that I had missed out on doing over the weekdays. Sunday was mostly a good company of chai while lounged on my couch and enjoyed the view of the rain.

Black and White outfits are one of  my favourites. I find them easiest to style. And they work for pretty much every occasion. Here are some 31 ways that will show you how to wear black and white outfits. Enjoyyy.

1. Go the slouchy way and add a bit of a gray.

2. Toughen up your white dress with all black accessories and outerwear.

3. Add a hint of neon in shoes.

4. Go the printed pants way and the tone of your shoes with your trousers.

5. Look for interesting tailored black and white clothes. Would reduce your styling part of minimal.

6. Match black and white trousers with a white flowy crop top. And wear crop tops only if you have washboard abs. 

7. Add caps to your outfit to get the sporty look.

8. Add a hint of pastel to the outfit through your shoes.

9. Just a hint of color through bracelets would pep up your black and white ensemble.

10. Has anyone ever gone wrong with a pair of n*de shoes?

11. Match your lips with clutch to add an interesting pop of color.

12. Throw a bit of neon in your black and white ensemble. I think it looks quite interesting.

13. Match the print of your pants with your top. Keep rest of the elements in solid black or white color.

14. A tartan peek-a-boo looks edgy.

15. Gold high tops add that extra edge without taking away the basic black and white theme of the outfit. The look is amazingly sporty.

16. Add white to your black dress with a huge chunky statement necklace.

18. Introduce black to your outfit through nails.

19. Metallic silver goes very well with black and white clothing and give an overall cool color tone to the outfit.

Hiya Everyone,

How is the week coming along for you guys? Mine has just been fantabulous. I have been coming to office all this week and waking up at 7 am everyday. I mean the high point of my day is dressing up in the morning. I just LOVE it! loll!! And then I get to meet some of IMBB people every morning. The room where Sanjeev takes the course is like the small IMBB world and I so look forward to be a part of it everyday.

This is for the first time I am attending any of Sanjeev’s classes. I have to confess I am in love with him all over again. hihih. Sometimes when I see him talking with a marker in his hands, I get worried about him ruining his shirt. Oh dear!

Yesterday we had a little discussion about dreams and each one of us shared our dreams. It was one brilliant session. When I think of myself today, I have been a dreamer all my life. And I am so thankful that slowly but surely all of them are coming true.

I have two big dreams :

• I want to travel across the world with Sanjeev.  And I want to travel like insane…today with Sanjeev, tomorrow as a family with my kids. 
• I want to do extremely good fashion. Fashion and makeup are something I live every single day. I just want to keep learning and keep moving forward with every passing day. They are my driving force.

I want to know your dreams? Trust me once you write them down, you’d find the strength to make them come true.

Oh! Delhi is receiving its monsoon now. And those who were making me super J about monsoon in their area last week.. Hmmphh! We have it now as well.

Hiya Everyone,

How was your weekend? Mine had been quite a social week. I meet friends and acquaintances. Yesterday Mr Husband took an off from office to prepare for his blogging course, so I got to spend a bit of time with him as well.

This week I would probably be in office so just a regular work week for me. Sanjeev and I are dying for a vacation.. the kinds where we don’t have to do anything and just sit back and relax kinds..

But anyhoo, inshallah we’d be able to plan our next travel by the end of the week. Woohoo!!!  So here’s to another great week and lots of plans.

Oh! I watched ‘The Big Year‘ the other day on TV. Quite an interesting movie based on the bird spotting competition.

Hi Everyone,

How is the week coming along for you guys? Mine has been super high on the social calendar. I have been just meeting people and would be meeting a few more the coming days.

Anyhoo, books are a very important aspect of my home. I have books on a ton of subjects, in different sizes and various dimensions. I have a couple of coffee table books as well that I have been wanting to put on my coffee tables for a while. But just putting books wasn’t enough for me so I added some interesting elements on the side of the books.

I have a round marble top table at home. Since the books were square , I decided to go ahead with a beautiful gold glass work tray to add a bit of contrast. I wanted a tray especially because I didn’t want to scatter stuff on my table. A tray gives  a more streamlined look. I definitely wanted flowers on the table but fresh flowers wither away in just a day or two during these hot days. So I went ahead with this little artificial vase. The candles are old ones from Fabindia. The mirror coasters are a gift from Taj Rambagh Palace.. luckily they match my tray. I also kept a little perfume oil bottle from The Body Shop . It’s actually a cute conversation starter. And who has ever gone wrong by placing a Buddha at home.

With books I have stacked only two of them and kept a kept something every interesting on top of them. See below.

And this was me yesterday- trying to beat Delhi’s heat in slouchy comfy linens and minimal jewellery.

I still have to style my second coffee table. Will share the pics when I do that.

I have been wanting to visit Meherchand market for a while now but just couldn’t. So this Saturday my friend and I decided to head to the place. We left at around lunch time, I suggested that we go to Nourish Organics Deli. It is a very small cafe that serves raw and vegan food. It was a mixed experience. The staff was super disinterested. We met the owner Seema, who was really sweet and loved what she was doing. 

My friend wasn’t happy at all. Her cold avocado soup was bitter (Avocados in India suck). I was okay but got tired of eating everything buckwheat based.

So anyway, I thought I’d click photos of some of the healthy food options. Totally worth trying at home with your own twist.

Buckwheat Pizza : It’s a cold pizza and totally not a substitute for your regular pizza except it looks pretty much the same. Buckwheat cracker base topped with sundried tomato sauce, cashew paste on top (to give that look of cheese),cherry tomatoes, and final topping of sprouts. I like hot pizzas. I din’t like this.

Zucchini Pasta : If you are a pasta hogger like me, this is definitely an excellent healthy option. It was serveed with cucumber and sundried tomato sauce. Tastes super fresh.

Quinoa Salad : This we ate a spoonful of it and sent it back. Anyway this was basically mix of quinoa, zuccini, tomatoes , onions and bell peppers. Add a lot of lime and spices to it to make it taste appetising. It was served with buckwheat onion crackers. Those pretty much tasted like kuttu pakoras that you have during navratri time.

Apple Pie : Buckwheat based *dies* almost granola tasting base topped with apples and mildly sweetened cashew (I think) sauce.

So next time we are going to Chez Nini and having our normal food.

We spent next few hours strolling around the Meherchand market. There are such cute decor and clothing shops there.We had so many Aww! moments. The final stop was the Masaba store. We two had a ball there trying out stuff and trying to fit in the smaller sizes. loll!! Both of us picked up a piece from her SS 13 collection.

It was a great Saturday for me. And yesterday was the usual work day for me.

Sorry, I couldn’t wait till Monday to tell you guys about the movie. I sooo enjoyed watching ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. It was an average story line but it was a typical frills and fancy Karan Johar movie. For me it was a perfect Friday entertainer – colorful, chilled out, glossy, and fun. All 4 of them – Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin acted superbly. But Ranbir has become such a big actor now he basically hogs the screen. Loved the songs – all of them. The movie makes me want to travel all the more… so badly.  

I saw everyone coming out of the hall with big smiles on their face. I would give it a 4 on 5.

Watch it if you are looking for a fun light hearted movie.

How is the week coming along for you guys? Sanjeev and I dined at two of our favourite places – Moet’s Sizzler’s on Tuesday and Cafe Diva with friends last night. It was quite chilled out and relaxing!

Anyhoo, I haven’t done a post such as this in a while so I thought I’d put this up.

Printed pants are definitely summer favourites. Often people are confused about how to style them. Take tips on how to style your printed pants from the following photos!

1. Pick a color tone from your printed pants and introduce it in your outfit somewhere. In this case, an addition of mint jacket. Mint is the base color of pants.

2. Follow the same color theme in the rest of your outfit to co-ordinate with the color theme of your pants. White and green in this case. 

3. Go monochrome with a pop of color. In this case, shoes.

4. Again, monochrome with a pop of color. Bag, this time.

5. Go completely monochrome.

6. Play with patterns and textures. In this case, a fun ruffle top in a basic color but that adds a bit of extra to the outfit as opposed to if she were wearing a plain white top.

7. Dare to go all out with different prints?

8. If you have washboard abs, go all out with crop tops and high waisted printed pants.

10. Pair your printed pants with a pop of color picked up from the pants itself and the balance everything out with neutral accessories / outerwear.

11. Pair them up with pretty pastels! 

12. Match up your pants and blazer in the same print. Very chic!

13. Colorblock!

14. Pair them up with a matching top.

15. Pair them up with a chic blazer.

16. Go the laid back pyjama style

Hiya Everyone,

It was pretty much a movie weekend for me. I watched 3 movies – Fast and Furious 6, Brave and The Lion King.

Fast and Furious 6 we watched on big screen. As usual F&F movies are all about action, good cars, race and greek godly fit actors . Overall, a full masala movie and a good paisa vasool. It was an excellent edge-of the seat entertainment. Definitely watch it. The best part was that it wrapped up with a promise to return with Fast and Furious 7. I LOVED the movie!

Sanjeev has been wanting to watch Brave for a while. It was airing on HBO(I think) on Saturday. This was a usual cute Disney movie but I liked the story. Okay, I lied. I was so glued to her Merida’s hair that I was not too interested in the story of the movie. I just wanted her to be on the screen all the time. I lovvvved her accent too. It gets a 6/5 from me.

And then was the Lion King. I have watched it so many times but I can watch it over and over again. This video below, Sanjeev showed it me during our dating days. He used to imitate the dog’s dance moves.  lol!! Don’t miss Hippo’s eyes.

Hi Everyone,

We came back to Delhi last night. It’s almost like live open happening here. Soo hott!!!

Yesterday was so emotional for both of us that we spent atleast an hour contemplating about extending our stay. Both of us just wanted to stay back..just for another day. Not sure what exactly was so good about the stay – the people, the weather, the natural beauty, the peace or just each other’s company. But you know, after weighing all the options we decided to comeback.

The weather turned beautiful yesterday at Kovalam. It rained for a while and then it was cool through out the day. We spent our day roaming around in Vivanta. The evening was really enchanting. We sat on the beach for hours listening to the sound of waves and enjoying the mist of the sea.

It was an emotional good bye but with a promise that we would be visiting Kerala very soon again. 

I hope you enjoyed this trip with us. Going to go through all the comments now. )
