Our party last night was just okay. Actually it was so insanely crowded that we were not too keen to stick around for long. We had a great buffet dinner. Not to mention the sweets buffet. 
I ate with all the gusto last night. hihi. After dinner, we had a quick change of clothes and went for a long walk around the property; spent some time near the sea and then spent hours lying by the pool side talking. It was a beautiful New Year start for both of us. :)
Today we had a ton of fun. I never ever miss buffet breakfasts at the hotels we stay at. I didn’t miss it here also. After breaky, we made quick calls to friends and family to wish new year. By the afternoon we decided to do a bit of shopping at the local market. I just bought two skirts and 2 bun holders.
There was a carnival arranged by the hotel people to promote Goa culture. It was beautiful. Nothing can beat the beauty and purity of our culture. Mr Husband captured the essence of the carnival beautifully through his lens.
And how could we miss the beach? So we spent our evening taking dips in the sea , drinking beer and eating pineapples. 
It was a beautiful day. Goa gets better with every passing day.

I told this woman that she looked beautiful. She said thank you and then explained all about her dress. According to her, her dress was all handmade and it took months to do all the work. This dress was stitched by her daughter. She had 3 daughters but she does not ask them to dress up like her because it is quite a task to do so every day. Btw her blouse was a sexy backless one and the woman had tattoos all over her arms.

Hey Rati…Wish You & Sanjeev a very happy new year…like we say in Konkani ‘Novya Vorsachi hun hunit Porbi :* ‘… loved the pics…its good that the hotel authorities are introducing more of what is GOA…Goa is more of shigmo (traditional goan culture & history before the Portugues rule) and not carnival (Portuguese influence feast before Lent season..i.e. merry making before the 40 days of non meat & celebration) …shigmo includes “fugdi” (dance in a circle by clapping & small steps), “dhalo” is similar to fugdi … both are performed before harvest thanking the Mighty Lord for fruitful earth, “ghode mondi” is about the Shivaji rule here in Goa,”lamp dance” …forgot the name..i guess it is “divlyacho nach” is about balance in a persons life…how a strong mind helps a person to over come any difficulty…Do some shopping of the traditional KUNBI SAREE,sweets of Goa
…so thtz about it…hope to see you down again for the Carnival

Amazingly eye for photography sanjeev ji has, its quite an experience going thru these.. Goa looks beautiful, i always pictured it’s beaches resorts, partying n never really thought about th local culture of th place.. Th pics were so insightful culturally
