Home Accents

Last week went in a blur. It was a maddening but quite satisfying week. We had some renovation work going on so there were workers around. I had long chats with friends and family. I learnt how to cook garlic bread and grilled sandwiches in microwave (Janhavi’s fairy dust is working. :P ). I organized. Added accents to my home. I am so loving doing my home with Sanjeev. It’s actually quite a sweet feeling. Every single thing that enters our home has our personal bits attached to it. It’s quite exciting and heart warming at the same time.

I just clicked a few shots. Would share more as things get more organized.

indian home decor

I love the combination of clear pebbles and candles. I might get some huge clear white candles as well.

bangle stand

Color co-ordinated this bangle stand. Still struggling with the arrangement of a whole lot of other arm candies.

towel organization

Organized towels.

salt pepper

These little salt and pepper jars make me want to cook maggi for no reason. :P

  9. Janhavi says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the home decor stuff in your house. And your couch makes me want to jump into the screen and sit on it. Those salt and pepper shakers just cry shake me shake me :P :P :P

    Feeling the house love !

    • Rati says:

j doo, that’s what we do. jump on the couch and watch tv. it’s more like a living room than a drawing room specifically. :D

      • Janhavi says:

Heee Heee I can totally imagine you jumping on that couch – maybe you do a photshoot with it :P Seriously though, I love couches like that. They make you feel all comfy and homey :D I love doing up houses, its the best part about moving ! Love all your chota chota touches :D :D :D makes a house a home na ?

hee hee when I was young i used to wonder why it was called a drawing room, i used to think a room just to draw ??? how odd :P now I know better but living rooms are so much better :P

        • Rati says:

yeh would do some time. There is still some work going on in that area. :D

hihihih that’s a cute theory actually. :P I guess most people have living rooms cum drawing rooms now. I remember both my naani and dadi use to have a sparate drawing room and we kids used to get the glorious sight of those rooms only when guests used to arrive. :P

          • Janhavi says:

I think u have to have a nice big house na to have a separate living come drawing room and in a place like Mumbai , big houses are just next to impossible to find unless you are an Ambani :P or a Khan :P

I can just imagine a kid u peering around in the big secret drawing room :P cho cute ! Both sets of my grandparents had chotu houses in typical Mumbai style where living rooms were literally living rooms/ where u sleep eat do everything in there :P

  10. mona says:

rati, can you post the recipe details?mujhe bhi seekna hai

    • Rati says:

mona actually i dont follow any recipes. I just toss whatever veggies i have at home on a buttered toast and toss i grill the sandiwch in oven. So that’s my grilled sandwich.

For garlic bread, i just blend garlic cloves with olive oil and parsley. Put the resulting oil on bread and toss it in oven. if i want cheese, i add cheese. use grill option in your microwave

You can probably check out the proper recipes on net. I am more of a convenience cook. :D
