Hi Everyone, 🙂
Our Jordan trip is pretty much over. This is the last post before my ‘how to plan a trip to Jordan’ post. I fell ill before our trip to Wadi Rum Desert. We had a hot air balloon and a 4×4 planned for that day. But we could do only the hot air balloon. It was one of its kind experience. I was super scared before we started but it was such a joyous experience. I think everyone must experience it once in their lives. 🙂
The last two days were spent in the beautiful city of Amman, the capital of Jordan. Sanjeev and I spent time sipping Turkish coffee at local cafes, eating falafels and testing out the sweets at various sweet shops. I haven’t seen a bigger celebration of food at any other place so far the way it is in Jordan. They not only like to eat but also like to share their food generously with strangers such as us. 🙂
The last day we went to see the ancient Roman Citadel, the Jerash City and the royal automobile museum.
The afternoon was spent shopping at the city mall and then spending a lazy evening walking down the cobbled streets of Amman. Just gathering every bit of memory we could gather.
I was literally in tears while leaving Jordan. A ton of credit goes to our driver Ziad, who made us familiar with the city, its culture, the teachings of Islam, and the rich history of the place. He welcomed us like his family member, took us around everywhere and even treated us at his favourite local falafel joint, Abu Jbara. The people of Jordan are actually the biggest strength of Jordan. Almost 90% people must have said ’welcome to Jordan’ with a warm smile. It was as if they were so happy to see us. I will make it a point to say ‘Welcome to India’ to every foreigner I come across from now on. As travellers, you never forget about the people. They help you create memories that you remember all your life.
I will miss Jordan!
