Hello from Kathmandu :)

white on white outfit

Hiya Everyone, πŸ™‚

We arrived Kathmandu this morning. It was a lovely 2 hour flight – easy peasy. We got to see the stunning view of Himalayas while landing. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I have never seen such a stunning view of mountains. I guess I’d click photos for you guys on our way back.

We are staying at Hyatt here. It is a beautiful hotel. The decor is very inspired by BuddhistΒ monastery. From our suite we can see a lovely view of far off mountains and top a lovely golden stupa located near to our hotel. The weather is amazingly pleasant here. Today we are just planning to chill out at the property only. We’d explore the city in the coming days. πŸ™‚

Have a super awesome week ahead everyone. πŸ™‚ Will share lots of pics with you guys in coming days. πŸ™‚

You can also go for Mountain Flight, if you want to :).. Rati and Sanjeevi, wish you both a very happy stay. 21. Priyanka says:

Hey Rati, this is my first time commenting on either of your posts but the moment I read Kathmanu I couldn’t resist. I lived in Nepal for 6 years as a medical student and am completely obsessed with the place. I have been to tons of places around the world but for me Nepal will always be my Favourite destination. The charm and hospitality is as good as it gets. I need to stop blabbering about Nepal and give you some recommendations for things to do. Warning its going be to a long list. Firstly you need to go to Thamel, it’s a cool laidback part of town. We called it the Goa of Nepal. In Thamel you need to go to Roadhouse cafe, their wood fired pizzas are Ahmazing. Also most restaurants in Thamel play excellent live music and the covers done by some of theses guys are trust me better than the original, and if you are a Pink Flyod fan you need to check that out. Also you get really cool n whimsical woolens in the local shops but remember to get your bargain face on. Also near Thamel there is The Garden of Dreams,it’s a beautiful botanical type garden with cafes and its beautiful to sip coffee under the trees. Also there is this Authentic Nepali restaurant at Lazimpath called Tukche thakali kitchen, the food is awesome n you’ll love the homely ambience, don’t forget to try their home brewed alcohol. As for sightseeing you can go to Nagarkoth to check out the sunrise,it’s breathtaking ,also I think they do paragliding around there so that would be cool to try. You can also check out the Royal palace, they do tours at specific times around the day and its magnificent. If you are in the mood for some adventure and have a whole day to spare then I highly recommend Bungee jumping at the Last Resort, it’s in the top 10 highest bungee points in the world and trust me its an experience you’ll never forget.
Lastly I just want to say that in Nepal’s dont expect Michelin rated restaurants and fancy places but if you want cozy whimsical restaurants, cafes and places to party till the wee hours along with a rich dose of culture then you are in the right place. Hope you love with Nepal as much as I do!

    • joyi says:

A fellow doc who studied in Nepal. So good to see you! Totally agree with your suggestions, specially the bungee jumping one. πŸ™‚

      • Priyanka says:

Hey Joyi,it’s great to hear from you. It’s not very often that you meet med students from Nepal.I am glad you agree with my suggestions because you have been there done that, right? Take care.

        • Rati says:

priyanka thank you sooo much for your comment.couldnt have the wood fired pizza but took your suggestion and had street side momos. best thing EVER! πŸ™‚ Thamel is actually the goa of nepal. thanks a ton!! πŸ™‚
