Life, So far! :)

Hi Everyone, :))

How has your week come along so far? Mine has been pretty decent except my Macbook conked out and I am back to working on my old lappy. :P

I also spent very little time with Nidhi. The best thing is that she is shifting near my home in a few days. So I am suuuperr excited. And there is no way I am leaving any chance of working out with her. :D A fitness buddy is always a good thing to have. Do you have one? :)

Sanjeev and I went to temple last night for Janamashtami. The whole religion system feels so business and commercial at times. I get the whole pomp and show part on festivals. But when you see temples getting the whole media coverage, pandits asking people to offer chanda, and advertisement banners being displayed for promotions, you know what’s happening. I miss the quiet of the temples. These days I prefer to say my prayers at home than being a part of the whole religion business. Sad but true.

The second half of the week is super exciting for me. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of my fav people. :))

Have a great day everyone! :)

    wow….what an unique outfit.
Religion has been turned into a business by some, though i like the pomp and show that are associated with these religious festivals.

love love your combo rati and the cape is just awesome :) i love the snake print skirt :) i do agree everything has become so much commercial these days not leaving god apart and yes staying back at home and doing prayer would be a good option too much of pomp and priests are so commercialized i sometimes feel everything runs around money these days we hardly find true solace in temples these days anyways have a great weekend and have loads of fun :)and nidhi is shifting near by your home then i think i am gonna see you more toned and fitter :D

  6. I liked your getup Rati..its cool and fresh..and I lovedddddddddd your pony tail… :D :D Me and Abhiraj went to a friend’s house for janmashtmi pooja…Abhiraj jhoolaaofied Kanha first and then himself got swung in his own swing..lol.. :P It was fun and blissful evening…Even I get put off by all the shor-sharabaa and commercialization done on the name of “religion”, so prefer to stay at home or visit a friend’s place for such celebrations.

    Rati,

i totally loved this outfit. You simply rocked it. and i want to know about mac book. i have a mac air and some keys on the keyboard stopped working. Sent it to Chennai and blore but coz of bad service we called it back without repair? Mine is just a yr old :( how has been your experience?

    • Rati says:

surabhi, I have been using macbook for 3 years now and I am the most biased person as far as apple goes. :| Mine was 3-4 months old laptop and I should totally be freaking out but I am okay and if given a chance I’d buy macbook only. I am a very wrong person to ask the question because I love apple products. :P but I never bought macbook air because we do heavyduty work. Experience with macbook pro has been quite good honestly. So sorry you had this experience. :(

That cape looks really good on you. You chose the perfect colour! It’d also look good with sleek pants, no?
And religious places are supposed to be calm and quiet so that you can pray..can anyone pray in the chaos of our temple? Anyway, I’m an apatheist so it doesn’t bother me.. :)

  11. jomol says:

Came back to stare at the lovely pics and you :*

  12. Ankita says:

I liked your outfit a lot..its very different….and you carried it so well :) :) Yellow is such a happy color :) Nidhi is coming close to your place….wow!!!! :) I dont have any fitness buddy :( I think I talk n joke with my trainers more… :) I really miss the quiet ambience of temples these days…. :( Even I prefer praying at my home when I want to. I hardly go to temples…

    • Rati says:

Thanks ankita . :)) I have never been a much of a temple goer anyway but I used to like going there occasionally. After coming to Delhi, I am getting distanced from that as well. :(

Hope you find a fitness buddy soon. :))

I haven’t been to a temple in so long after several incidents. The last time I had been it was to the Shiva temple in Gokarna. The minute you enter it, I was deeply saddened by what was written on the board outside. It only allows a sect of people to come in. Something like only Hindus…I can’t remember the exact words but I felt that God will never have a place only for a certain kind to enter. The next thing was the moment I stepped into the hall leading to the area where the lingam is kept, a priest immediately swooped down upon me questioning my caste and religion. sub-caste, type, nakshatra etc etc most of the answers i did not know because I was not brought up in that way. I felt very uncomfortable and nauseous because he was so business minded at the same time asking me which puja I needed to get done. I thought only if I pay him will he allow me to see God? But I had come so far I couldn’t walk away. I said I had already done this puja before(I lied) and tried to get him away. He wouldn’t leave my side and finally I was allowed to go and touch the lingam which is immersed on the floor. I could barely see it but I felt nice that my mission to come to Gokarna was accomplished. I want to go to a temple now after reading this post. It’s been so so long after that incident. Sorry for my long comment. Also, Rati you are looking very very beautiful in all your outfit posts. I have to add you look very regal. It’s nice you are getting a work out partner. I have to think about getting one too.

  14. Aru says:

Without going into a my whole philosophy about temples my view is that i’d just go to the not so popular temples (same god) maybe but i like the peace and calm as well. The vibrations basically. Somehow the big popular ones seem to have lost that.

Coming to the dress i am kinda confused. I would not wear the cape thing becos firstly i wouldn’t think something like wud good on me..its something i wudnt even attempt but you have Rati and you have carried it off superbly. Very different style but i guess thats what fashion is all about.

(I am writing long responses these days :))

    • Aru says:

And my sentences r going haywire too. :) in all the excitement i guess.

      • Rati says:

yeah same aruna. That’s what. The not so popular temple that we go to tried way too hard to compete with the famous one.. that’s why I felt so bad about the whole thing. :(( hihih glad you are enjoying yourself so much. :)

I haven’t got such a major reaction for any other outfit i have done so far..both good and bad! haha but i had a ton of fun doing it. :)) Thank you :)

  15. arja says:

I love the hairstyle and the skirt <3

  16. Karishma says:
