Mumbai Visit : Day 1

white lace dress neon bag

Hi Everyone, :)

I am on my social high these days. :P I spent some great time with my mum and brother over the weekend. And then Sanjeev and I flew to Mumbai to catch up with friends and colleagues. After landing last night in Delhi, we headed straight for a friend’s birthday party.

These past few days have have been just so amazing. We met the most amazing people whom we have come across through IMBB. But now they have become such good friends that it’s them we’d want to spend our quality time with.

We stayed at theΒ magnificentΒ and the most beautiful Taj Mahal Hotel. We opted for a sea facing room. It was probably one of the best decisions for our Mumbai stay. I stared and stared at the sea from our room window like no tomorrow. The morning painted a beautiful picture of the sea, the rising sun, people feeding theΒ pigeonsΒ and yacht men preparing themselves for the day. It is something that I’d like to keep safely in my heart until I visit Mumbai next. :)

Sharing some pics of Mumbai through Sanjeev’s lens. :) How have you guys been? :)

More posts coming up. :)

awwww Ratii.. sooo loved it. I was in Mumbai for more than a yr and went to Taj there several times.. just for eating though, never stayed. This post has become so close to my heart now. :-* all my memories are now dancing in front of me. You look gorgeous as ever! :D The lacy dress and the coral bag!!! You totally rocked it.

oh and loved the clicks of the city.. beautifully captured.. Kudos Sanjeev!!!

Guess you also went to Colaba Causeway… haven’t been there since long.. One of my fav place for crazy bargains. :D :D

Taj is one of the bestest place to stay in Mumbai.. The picture of the interiors of Taj, the corridors, brings back memories of 2008 and sends a chill down my spine… I couldn’t sleep for 3 days.. My friend had few of her friends holed up in the hotel when the attacks took place… they had to hide in the cold storage.. what happened back then in Mumbai was terrible… but life moves on..

There’s a lot to explore in Mumbai.. come back soon dear.. the city awaits you.. :)

    • Rati says:

Thanks dipti. But you know Taj did stand the test of its time, which is what we should be proud of. Sad to hear about your friends. It must have been so scary I can imagine. :((

Yeah I went to colaba with Janhavi. It was really cool. :) Would love to visit it again! :)

      • Dipti says:

Yes that’s true Rati… and you know the staff their guided and saved every possible guest without even caring for their own lives.. how courageous of them. In that sense Taj will truly be remembered.

  12. Janhavi says:

Love Love looking at Mumbai from your POV – we take so much of it for granted, it just reminds me all over again why I love this city so much ! That bag is so pretty but I will say that very few people could really carry it off and you do it full justice !

    • Rati says:

Thankoo Jdoo. :)) I think the same happens with us when someone else covers delhi. :)) That bag is quite a conversation starter. :P

      • Devie says:

Did you get a chance to take cooking lessons from Janhavi, Rati :P Or is that on the agenda for sometime later :)

  16. Sunita says:

    Hi Rati,
Wow !! So finally, you guys visited ‘Aamchi Mumbai’…I’m thrilled that you guys decided to travel to Mumbai(Maharashtra state)…my hometown(once upon a time!) … There are so many places to see/visit, you need at least a week to do the proper ‘Mumai-darshan’ and to get acquainted with the exuberant and exciting life of Mumbai… you should visit again so that you can explore Mumbai at your own pace…
I’m so glad that you & your hubby got to experience the strikingly magnificent and glorious splendour of the ‘Taj Mahal Palace hotel” and the ‘Gateway of India’- the architectural marvel of our country!!….It’s an important landmark of the city just like you guys have ‘India gate’ as a national monument, I suppose….It’s marvelous to look at the life of Mumbai thro’ your hubby’s lens…he’s a skillful photographer & has got the knack of capturing the very essence- the spirit of the place wherever you go… here also, he’s captured the nuances of everyday life…Looking at your pictures made me nostalgic for old times…all my bittersweet old memories came alive…It feels so good to see the southern part of Mumbai and the shores of Arabian Sea, the waterfront in the Apollo Bunder area…I’ve got a lot of fond memories associated with that place…I miss it all so very much ! :(
Next time, you should go sailing in the Arabian sea, you’ll get to see the dolphins…
Rati, you are looking stunningly gorgeous in your incredibly beautiful and elegant lacy dress…<3 your ultra chic ring, those shiny Zara pumps & Furla 'Candy' transparent rubber satchel…Its yummilicious jelly bean candy look n texture makes me want to eat the bag :) … Lace + pearls is a classy & timeless combination, reminds me of designer bridal gowns & the vintage grandeur…
It's always a pleasure to view/read your travel updates…Stay happy, healthy & keep traveling…. and huh, don't forget to share with us! :)
