We landed by at Rambagh Palace by chance. We had gone to Rambagh only for a tea trip but we rather ended up shifting there eventually. I have to say that it was the Best decision of the trip. We had such less time in hand but our Jaipur (Rajasthan) trip would have been incomplete without our stay at this magnificent place.
Just like Umaid Bhawan, this property is also managed by Taj Hotels. From the website ” Rambagh Palace is a living legend in Jaipur. Built in 1835 on a modest scale for the queen’s favourite handmaiden Kesar Badaran, and later refurbished as a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge, the mansion was renamed Rambagh, after the then reigning Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II. ” Read more about this iconic place HERE.
We reached there in the evening. It was almost the dinner time. We luckily got a beautiful garden facing Historical Suite. Right across our room there were Rajastani dancers dressed up in stunning red poshaks dancing to keep the guests entertained during the dinner time. That view is still fresh in my mind and it was one was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.
I don’t even have to say a word about the food. It’s top class across all the Taj Properties that we have come across so far. No matter what you pick from the menu, you can be rest assured that the quality would be maintained. The food was served in the finest cutlery and silverware.
The next morning I woke up early and took a long walk across the property. The air was clean. The sight of dozens of peacocks and peahens running around the palace was priceless. And the endless ‘namashkars‘ that you get from the staff does not let the smile fade from your face.
We had a great breakfast and lunch. Then I went to Jiva Spa (review coming up) to get a facial done. After packing our stuff, we took a super fun carriage ride. :))
I am just sad that we got only a day to experience the beauty of the place. If we could have, we would have extended the day. But we had to return to meet some important deadlines. But oh well! Hope to visit the Rambagh again. The staff bid us farewell with lovely stuff from Forest Essentials and a set of pretty mirror work coasters.
Sharing the photo journey with you that we captured in whatever little time we had during our stay. 🙂
