Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.

Hi Everyone, šŸ™‚

I thought August was going fast for me but September has been moving at an insane speed. There have been meetings, tons of unfinished work, new projects, and of course, life. Everything is looking like a jigsaw puzzle at the moment. There are happy days. There are sad days. But there has not been a single slow day. I like madness and the fast pace of my life but now I think I need a travel break. But first, the jigsaw puzzle has to be solved. I am trying to find the balance. Did I confuse you? šŸ˜›

Anyway, here’s wishing that whatever is left of this year keeps the hope and happiness alive in our lives. šŸ™‚

Any good movies coming up this week? I have’t watched anything after Satyagrah.

Have a great weekend everyone. :))

In another month he’d be 1 year old!! Gosh..I still remember when we brought him home…he looked so fragile and doll like..he he..memories!

    • Rati says:

hahah thanks cali. I think the inspiration for this outfit is Kashmir. Can you recall Kashmiri women wearing these beautiful embroidered capes? šŸ™‚ awww thanks . I’d check out inspiration pics for the one you suggested. :))

and awww!! yeah kids grow up so fats no. I am seeing my friends kids. Every time I see them, they look like they have grown up a tad bit more. you planning a big birthday party for him?

  6. Surbhi says:

u look like a fairy rati di..the dress is so unique and pretty and not everyone can carry this dress as beautifully and gracefully as u did. for a moment i got confused about the clutch because it looks like some pretty orange box n not a clutch. šŸ˜›
i love when life goes on wd such insane speed.. n then when u take a break, it feels insanely gud šŸ™‚

  7. shai says:

That is not an easy silhouette to pull off. But you do it so well. lovely!

  8. Bhumika says:

  9. Dipti says:

  10. nidhi says:

    Hi Rati,
    Loved ur outfit.. :* U looking gorgeous…
Love the color and the way u r carrying it šŸ™‚
Is it a Kaaftan kind of dress… ??

  11. sahana says:

God, I can’t believe how pretty this dress is. Just stunning. Need to Google Anamika Khanna.

  12. Ramya says:

Rati I know exactly what u feel, sometimes we cant take a break without some things settling down! šŸ™‚ I hope ur puzzle falls into place n u travel soon. I also have a selfish motive for saying this. I love ur travel posts *greedy* šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€
One doubt: when would be the perfect occasion to wear this kinda outfit? Its just so beautiful! I love ur hair as well… In fact everything abt this look is awesome :-*

    • Rati says:

hahah I cant wait to travel again Ramya. It’d been long. :)) Even though my life is hectic , I guess all the happenings around me keep me on my toes. šŸ˜€

This a pure party outfit. You can actually wear it both during day and evening. Infact a pointy flats would look nice with this if you don’t want to wear heels. If you want to try a cape, give something like Nikhil Thampi’s. That’s simpler and you would be able to wear it casually. Give it a try. Capes are fun! šŸ™‚

  13. Janhavi says:

Love this outfit ! Its simply brilliant, the colors, the cut – it’s different without being so out there that you can’t wear it šŸ™‚ and as always u wear it with aplomb !

    • Rati says:

Thankoo Jdooo. I wouldn’t say it is very easy to pull off but it is not as insane as many couture outfits are. Was thinking about you the other day. :)) How are you and Sugar doing? šŸ™‚

  14. nisha says:

hey… 2nd pic is super awesome… loved it..especially the fall… the hair cut suits u… on that note..even i need to go for haircut…and yes this year is running…i remember celebrating my baby’s 1st b’day last year n now he’s ready for the playschool….. i really wish sometimes..he cud be small little tiny winy again n cuddle him in my arms…. now he just runs away(too much of baby talk šŸ˜‰ ) The best part i like the minimal accessory look šŸ™‚

    • Rati says:

Hope you get a haircut soon. I feel a good haircut keeps things in perspective. šŸ˜€ awww and good luck for your baby boy!! Kids really grow up fast! :))

  15. Ankita says:

This is a really interesting n unique outfit and you carried it really well!!! šŸ™‚ When I looked at it the first time, I totally got confused šŸ˜› but really kudos to u for experimenting so much with your outfits šŸ™‚ I hope you really travel soon. I love your travel posts and often pick up my travel destination based on your posts šŸ™‚ I watched shhudh desi romance n I loved it a lot šŸ™‚ Many people hated it though!!! lol….but many liked it as well… šŸ™‚ Its a fresh story n a new perspective, I think you will like it… šŸ™‚

    • Rati says:

Keeping fingers crossed ankita. Hopefully will travel soon. Dying to! :)) But happy that since i am stable at one place, I am also able to focus a lot of on things that get ignored otherwise. šŸ™‚ Really? Watching movie with nidhi tomm. Will discuss it with her. šŸ™‚

  16. Samantha says:

Rati, you look really pretty here!! I love how your outfit is so flowy at the bottom and yet so gorgeously fitted at the top, along with the little flower detailing on the top part!
Yeah I get how the madness can just overwhelm you at times, and sometimes what gives you the strength to plow on through it all is just the thought of how you can take a break and relax once it’s done or atleast become a bit less hectic! šŸ™‚
    Stay well <3
