Last night Sanjeev and the hotel staff celebrated my birthday. I cut a delicious dark chocolate cake (complimentary from Umaid Bhawan) and finished off my birthday with wine toasts.
We woke up to the twitter of birds, calls of peacock, and pitter-patter of the rain. The way it is raining here, it is hard to believe we are in Rajasthan.
We went for a grand breakfast. People love to feed you here. They’d keep bringing assortments on your table, and would sugget you to try out various things. You are actually spoilt for choice by the time you actually start eating your meal. The smiles never leave the royal butlers’ faces. The humbleness of people around makes this place special than anywhere else I have been so far.
Even though it was drizzling, Sanjeev and I decided to take a walk outside the palace. I saw a real peacock dancing to the rain for the first time ever.
Sharing some pics from today.
Totally looking forward to next few days of our stay here.
I just received a huge bouquet of lilies , a personal hand written card, and a polo shirt as a gift for my birthday from Umaid Bhawan. The operations manager and his staff personally came to wish and present the gift.
This place never fails to surprise.
Ciao!
