Hi Everyone, ๐
I thought it’d be unfair if I didn’t review the year. It has been a year of super highs and super lows. I think I’d like to wrap it up thinking of super highs only. Travel had been such an important aspect of Sanjeev’s and my life this year. I don’t think we ever realised how much we love travelling and how much we love travelling with each other. We started from Goa and wrapped up in Kashmir as our last trip for 2013. Travel was a part of Fashion but I guess it turned the other way around as we hopped from one place to another. We gathered loads of love, experience, friendships and happiness throughout. Sanjeev captured the essence of every place we went to so brilliantly. And we were fortunate enough to share with you all. These trips wouldn’t have been so much fun if you were not part of this excitement. So a BIGGGGGG Thank You to all of you.
Let’s re-visit some memories. :))
Goa : That’s where it started and that’s where it got addictive. We stayed at the Lalit and the peace and quiet we were looking for amidst the New Year Celebration madness, we found it there. ๐
Rishikesh : From the sea and sand experience, we made the next trip to Rishikesh at the peak of January. Waking up right next to the Ganges in the morning, sipping tea with friends, and then going for rafting in icy cold water. I would shudder to do it once again but as it was soooo good, I might as well. ๐
Jaipur : Another trip in January was to the Pink City. Well, Chowki Dhani is something to cherish for always but Rambag Palace did take the cake away this time. The grandeur, the royalty and the Taj Experience, it couldn’t get better. ๐
Dubai : I think I want to go there again this year. ๐ I loved how people celebrate fashion there and oh! shopping. Experienced the insane Desert Safari, which I might not do again. But what adrenaline rush it was. ๐
Coorg : Coorg is one experience that is still fresh in my mind. And it’s too good to be true. Vivanta by Taj has created something beyond ordinary among the rainforest. You can take me any day there and I’d happily say yes. ๐ The walk among the forest, standing miles high in the middle of the forest, the breathtakingly beautiful pink sunset, the cute ducks and the buggy rides.Taj has perfected all of it. And if you have a list of top 5 Must Visit places in India, this should be one of them!
Kathmandu, Nepal : We had heard so much about the beauty of Nepal, we deiced to see it for ourselves. It was as beautiful as people put it. Staying in a monastery like hotel, the warmth of the people and the Buddha Stupa. It was so worth a visit. ๐
Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur : You don’t say Good Bye to this place. you only say see you soon! ๐
The Oberoiย Vanyavilas, Sawai Madhopur : April was the Tiger Calling month! and we did come up, close and personal with one! ๐
Mumbai :We also made a short trip to Mumbai this year. And it was such a fun friends-filled trip. Want to do that again! ๐
Vivanta by Tajย Kovalam , Kerala: The credit of this trip goes to Jomol who so insisted that we went to Kerala. We were never keen because for us south India meant Goa. ๐ But what a brilliant experience it was that we want to explore more of the place. ๐ I can’t wait to have Appams and stew again!
The Oberoi Amarvilas Agraย You cannot miss visiting the Taj Mahal. Can you? We we didn’t either. The humidity was a bit of a kill-bill but it was a Wah Taj! expereince. ๐
Neemrana Fort Palace : a 2 hour drive from Delhi and probably all Dilliwalas must experience it. It’s a lovely weekend getaway! ๐ Staying in a 15th Century fort. I mean it had to be an experience in itself.
ย Kashmir : And the most EPIC trip of the year was Kashmir. I have not seen such raw untouched beauty anywhere in the world…so far! It truely is heaven on earth and I feel fortunate enough to be able to experience it. Plus we went with our friends who make any experience as amazing as they themselves are. ๐
I think I am way too overwhelmed as I wrap up this post. I have cribbed a lot in 2013 for some of the super lows in my life but I don’t think I can be more thankful for what I have experienced in 2013.
Wish you all a VERY Happy New Year. May 2014 brings a ton of happiness in your lives. And for myself, I hope I keep sharing bits and pieces on my life with you all. ๐
BEARRR HUGGSSSSS!!! ๐
