Disneyland (Paris) – Happiest Place on Earth!

disneyland-fun

Hi Everyone, πŸ™‚

Sanjeev and I had one full day for us to spend in Paris. The choice was between the Palace of Versailles or Disneyland Paris. Well!! we chose to head to Disneyland and it was one of the most fun day of our Paris Trip. Disneyland truly is the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’. There are thousand of people in the park and all you see is happiness all around. Little kids dress up as Disney characters, adults getting into their kids mode, someone buying a fluffy candy, someone getting ready to meet their fav disney character, someone taking pictures, and someone proposing to his love. Disneyland is a dream come true. If you EVER get a chance to visit this fantasyland, don’t miss it! πŸ™‚

Some Tips for visiting Disneyland :

  • Disneyland Paris is a little far off from the city. It almost takes an hour to reach there. You can take a taxi or a direct train that goes to Disneyland.
  • Wear your most comfortable shoes and clothes. The place is HUGE. You’d have to walk around a lot to see various parks. In our case the weather kept changing so wearing a blazer was a good idea.
  • Don’t bother about carrying eatables with you. You have the cutest restaurants there and you’d love to explore those.
  • You can buy a whole lot of merchandise from Disneyland – clothes, mugs souvenirs, luggage etc. If you don’t want to carry stuff all the way back, there are Disney shops all around Paris. You may pick your disney merchandise from there. πŸ™‚
  • Don’t forget to take your camera. πŸ˜€
  • The tickets were 88 Euros per person for a day. You don’t have to pay for visiting the parks inside. But you would have to pay extra for the merchandise and food.
  • Disneyland is a very big place. So leave early in morning so that you have ample time to explore the place.
  • Pick up a map of disneyland from the info counter when you enter. That would give you a general idea about the shows and the location of other places inside Disneyland. πŸ™‚

Hi Rati, Lovely pictures and just in time for my trip. πŸ˜€
I am going to Paris for 5 days in a couple of weeks and your posts have been super helpful. I just had a quick question though, did you guys get the Paris Pass for your stay or did you pay directly at the different venues? What about the tickets to Disneyland? πŸ˜€
Also, would you suggest planning everything beforehand or can we reach and do things leisurely. Would appreciate your suggestions. Thank youuu. πŸ˜€

    • Rati says:

oh! That’s so nice. Thank you πŸ™‚

You buy the ticket at the entrance of disneyland. It’s 88 euros per persons.
We did not have the pass. We paid at the various venues. πŸ™‚ But we did not know about the pass to be honest. If there is one and it is useful you must get it. πŸ™‚

You can totally plan things leisurely in paris. We did that. You move around in the streets, sit at the cafes, shop a bit, enjoy things here and there. We were not running from one place to another to see everything. There are a ton of things in paris to explore. We decided that we would keep coming back here so the whole idea changed. But if it is your once in a lifetime trip, you must explore some of the main things for sure – lourve, eiffel tower, disneyland, Versailles palace, notredam, locks bridge , opera etc.

By the time you’d reach paris, it would be cold. So pack accordingly. It was slightly cold while we were there. But we had a mixed kind of weather – hot for a few hours, rain, slightly cold for a few hours. Evenings were mostly chilly.

And honestly, you don’t have to pack a LOT for your paris trip. it is a shopping heaven. you could always save your money on the shopping that you’d do here and rather shop there and put your outfits together. Pack comfy shoes for sure. A whole lot of walking around in Paris. πŸ™‚

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions. I’d have another post to come up. Hope that would help.

      Have a fantastic trip! πŸ™‚

      • Madhu says:

Thank you so much for such a detailed reply. You are the best! πŸ˜€ <3
Will plan accordingly. The Pass seems to be a good thing to buy if we are planning to visit a LOT of places. It covers some 60 places or there is just a Museum pass (not even considering that as I do not want to spend all the time at Museums). However, we do not want to cram everything in one trip. So, I guess we'll go and get the tickets directly too for the main attractions that we plan to visit. πŸ™‚

How was the queue for the tickets at Disneyland, though? From what I have read, most people seem to say that we will save quite a bit in terms of money & time if the tickets are bought online.

Thanks again, for all the info, Rati. <3
        Love,
        Madhu

        • Rati says:

we got the tickets to disneyland in like 5 minutes. πŸ˜› so i dont know. We actually did not plan a disneyland trip. it was a spontaneous trip for us but if you are really sure of going there getting an online ticket is actually a good idea. would definitley save you from the hassle of getting in the queue (small or big). πŸ™‚ the queues inside the park could be long . Like we had to wait for atleast 40-45 minutes to meet mickey. But I dont think you should be worried about the long lines, it is all worth it in the end. There are thousands of people in disneyland on day to day basis. it is not possible to get through everything quickly. There would be lines for food as well in restaurants but i feel it becomes a part of the experience only. πŸ™‚ for long lines you could may be carry some munchies. They make things easier. πŸ˜€

there is something called fast pass also but it is available for a few things only.It saves you from getting in long lines. and you dont have to pay for that. for some rides and shows you could ask for fast passes at the info counter. or if they are avial online you could do that as well.

thank you for telling me about the pass. I’d take a look at it the next time around. πŸ™‚
