The Dreamy, Poetic, Magical Venice

venice-8178

Hi Everyone,

Sanjeev and I spent 3 magical days in Venice. I don’t know if words or pictures or anything can ever explain the beauty of the place. We of course wanted to cover Venice as much for you but somehow all we wanted to do was just sit by the canal and enjoy our drinks every evening. Or just move around in a boat to go from one place to another. The first day we were more on the touristy side of Venice – we moved around on water, on foot, savoured meals by the canal and enjoyed our Gondola ride. Well, I would call the gondola ride a bit over-rated but when in Venice, you MUST do it. πŸ™‚

The second day, Sanjeev and I decided to explore the quieter part of Venice. We took a long ride by the boat and stepped out quite far off somewhere near Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel. The weather got beautiful…it rained a bit. We walked by the sea, we walked among the greens, stopped to catch the beauty of the place, had conversations and just soaked up the quite of the place. Something inside us has changed forever after visiting Venice. To an extent that we are not enjoying Milan. I mean I was dying to come to Milan and shop to my heart’s content. Both Sanjeev and I were rather uneasy the whole day yesterday.I did not even shop anything despite every single brand was right there in front of me. Sigh!!

I can’t wait to come back to Venice again. It broke my heart, man!!

Oh! we stayed at Al Ponte Mocenigo Hotel. It’s turned out to be a small home-style hotel. The best part was that it was 30 seconds away from the canal. So you could take your drinks and spend your evening lazing around by the canal. After visiting there we noticed that you could get a hotel just ON the canal as well. So if you are visiting Venice, you could check those as well. If not, I would highly suggest this hotel. They have won loads of awards and I am not even surprised. They were good! πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy the pics. :))
